The Departmental Director of the Nippes Police, Divisional Commissioner Asserne Selmon, presented his annual report on operations conducted by the departmental police in his command.
Since its installation on August 2, 2021 to August 2, 2022, the police of Nippes has arrested 583 individuals for various offenses. It has also confiscated 6 firearms and 20 vehicles, in addition to 140 cases handled by the Judicial Police Service (SDPJ) of Nippes.
Divisional Commissioner Asserne Selmon also highlighted other activities carried out during his first year at the head of the Nippes police. He mentioned several training sessions on psychology and human rights for police officers, the end of year party and the awards given to exemplary officers of the department as well as the relocation of the Miragoâne police station. He also mentioned the meetings held with the UNDP authorities and the U.S. Embassy on the reconstruction of the office of the departmental directorate of the police of Nippes and the police station of Miragoâne which was damaged during the earthquake of January 12, 2010.
The departmental director of the Nippes police Asserne Selmon, took the opportunity to thank the judicial authorities, civil society organizations and the population for their collaboration with the police institution in maintaining a climate of peace within the department.
