Prime Minister Ariel Henry will be in Gonaives on January 1, 2022
fter more than three years, the celebration of the 218th anniversary of independence will be held with the speech of the first citizen of the country, Prime Minister Ariel Henry, in the city of independence, Gonaïves, capital of the department of Artibonite.
Under the auspices of the mayor of Gonaives, this Sunday, December 26, a sectoral meeting is held at the departmental emergency operation center in Gonaives.
Present for the preparations of the arrival of the first Ariel Henry, the Minister of Defense, Enold Joseph, met with CASEC, ASEC, representatives of grassroots organizations, members of civil society among others around this issue.
At the end of the discussions, Mr. Enold Joseph confirmed the arrival of the Prime Minister.
“I can confirm that the Prime Minister will be in Gonaïves to celebrate the country’s 218th anniversary in a big way,” said the Minister.
“From tomorrow, the official stand will be erected,” he said.
For several weeks, the interim mayor, Mr. Donald DIOGÈNE, has made this independence celebration his priority. To achieve this, he has met several times with officials from the minister’s office to convince them to come to Gonaives.
