Prime Minister Ariel Henry clings to his desire to organize elections in Haiti

CTN News

Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who is also the head of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), spoke on December 17 to a cohort of 631 police officers, including 132 women, who had just graduated during a ceremony at the National Police School in Frères.
“The fight against insecurity and the restoration of state authority are essential to the holding of elections in the country,” said Mr. Henry, who believes that the country does not need foreign forces to restore security, arguing that the results of the international troops that have occupied the territory in the past have not been conclusive.
Instead of a new multinational intervention, he called on the so-called friendly countries of Haiti to contribute to the strengthening of its police force. Ariel Henry also recognized the lack of means that the police face. Poorly equipped, they have difficulty accomplishing their mission. However, deviant behavior will not be tolerated, Henry threatened.

Members of the PNH high command, including the PNH Director General, Frantz Elbé, and members of the government in charge of security issues, including the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Berto Dorcé, and the Minister of the Interior and Territorial Collectivities, Litsz Quitel, were also concerned by the Prime Minister’s remarks.
Ariel Henry welcomed the arrival of these new agents who will be quickly deployed in the field to strengthen the fight to establish a secure environment in the country.

For his part, the Director General of the PNH, Frantz Elbé, welcomed the mobilization of these new officers on the territory as part of a plan to fight against insecurity.
He invited them to serve as a model for their colleagues and the whole country, castigating the agents whose behavior does not honor the PNH. “Be attentive to the elders in order to better fulfill your duty,” advised Mr. Elbé to the neophytes.

Further on, Frantz Elbé, continues to call for the collaboration of the population in the fight against insecurity. For him, it is necessary the contribution of all the sectors so that the agents of order can win the battle against the armed bandits.
