Police operation in Gros Morne: 9 alleged bandits mortally wounded, 7 arrests, 2 villages and 30 hostages freed

Nine (9) alleged bandits were fatally wounded, seven (7) arrested and thirteen (13) others affected, two (2) villages and thirty (30) hostages released, this is the partial outcome of the police operation conducted in Ti Bois d’homme in the commune of Gros Morne. The objective was to dislodge the powerful gang “Kokorat san ras”.
In addition, the police authorities report 8 motorcycles seized and 30 hostages released on the third day of the offensive.

According to the head of the North-West Police, this operation, which is taking place in the Artibonite department in the commune of Gros-Morne on the road leading to Port-de-Paix, was started a week ago and continues until the threats of the armed gangs are reduced, as they represent a major challenge on this stretch of road, especially for the users of the North-West.

During the first few days, the situation was particularly difficult for travelers and especially pilgrims.
