Employees of the Miragoâne regional office of the Office d’Assurance Véhicules Contre-tiers (OAVCT), announced on Monday a truce in the strike launched several weeks ago to demand better working conditions. This truce will be effective from this Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
This decision follows the publication of the latest circular from the General Manager of the OAVCT, who pledged to take note of all the demands, explained Rodrigue Delan, spokesman for the striking employees’ movement.
Rodrigue Delan warned, however, that they would return to rebellion if their desiderata were not considered as of the new fiscal year.
Employees of the Office d’Assurance Véhicules Contre-tiers (OAVCT) had launched their strike at the beginning of April 2023 to demand payment of 14 months’ salary arrears and to denounce discriminatory practices instituted by central management.
