Armed individuals opened fire this Wednesday, May 17, 2023, on the vehicle of Judge Jean Wilner Morin.
The facts occurred on the road to brothers in the township of Petion-ville, according to the professional association of magistrates (APM) who said they learned with consternation this armed attack perpetrated against the magistrate Jean Wilner Morin.
It says it is relieved to know that the magistrate and his bodyguard were not hit.
APM condemns this heinous attack and asks the authorities concerned to assume their responsibility by guaranteeing the citizens’ right to security.
Magistrate Jean Wilner Morin was scheduled to interview this Wednesday the president of the communal administration of Petion-ville, Kesner Normil, as part of the investigation opened by the ULCC into cases of corruption reported within the public administration.
It should be noted that in the context of this same case, Judge Jean Wilner Morin had ordered the arrest of the Director General of the Social Assistance Fund (CAS) Edwin Tonton for misappropriation of public property and illicit enrichment.
