Several dozen protesters vented their anger at government authorities on Wednesday over the country’s socio-economic stagnation in the run-up to the end-of-year and New Year holidays.
Among the protesters were people who claimed to be from the student community. They set up barricades of burning tires on Avenue Christophe, in Port-au-Prince, to demand an easing of their situation in this period of conviviality and largesse.
The traffic was affected at the level of this artery of the capital often used by promoters of anti-government demonstrations.
These people have pushed the pressure to the point of requesting their integration into the government, as was the case for some opposition leaders.
