On a tour of the South Department from January 3 to 5, students from the Institute of Management, Governance and Political Studies (IGGEP), based in Jacmel, in the Southeast, decided to honor the former elected representative of Port-Salut, Dr. Sinal Bertrand.
The initiators believe that the work of Mr. Bertrand in the 50th Legislature was remarkable.

His colleague from Marigot, in the Southeast, promoter of the local governance program at the IGGEP, has also done valuable work, the visitors appreciated. The visitors came to the City of Michel Domingue to better understand the functioning of local governments. They also wanted to explore the potential wealth of local communities necessary for any national development project.
The students took advantage of their visit to the South to explore the botanical garden of Les Cayes, which extends over six squares of land, inspiring them to establish a replica in their home town.

In order to make the usefulness of the experience more pleasant, the students then went to the mystico-religious site in the commune of Côteaux, climbing the 500 steps. A ritual regularly performed by many believers and researchers in search of peace and knowledge.
