CTN News

The former Minister of Sports, Evans Lescouflair, was repatriated to Haiti, this Wednesday, July 6, 2022, after his arrest in Panama last weekend following a warrant issued against him for rape, sexual abuse, and indecent assault by the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince Jacques Lafontant.
The Puerto Rican authorities who made the arrest subsequently deported Evans Lescouflair to the Dominican Republic to facilitate his repatriation to Haiti. A delegation from POLIFRONT-DCPJ ensured the appropriate follow-up upon his arrival in the country.

Evans Lescouflair was invited on May 12, 2022 by Commissioner Jacques Lafontant to explain himself after the accusations of sexual abuse made against him. His lawyers had requested a postponement of the hearing.

The summons of the government commissioner of the capital followed a complaint filed against Evans Lescouflair, by citizen Claude Alix Bertrand, for rape and sexual assault.
