Drama in Cap-Haitien: December 15, 16 and 17 declared National Days of Mourning

The Government announces three days of national mourning on December 15, 16 and 17, 2021, in memory of the victims of the explosion of the gasoline truck in Cap-Haitian during the night of December 13 to 14.
“In observation of these three (3) days of national mourning, the following measures are adopted: the lowering of the national flag in front of public and private buildings; the suspension of all social activities; the closure of nightclubs and other similar establishments; the invitation to radio and television stations to program special broadcasts and music for the occasion,” wrote the Government in an order published in the official newspaper Le Moniteur.Special N 58 2 Special N 58 3 Special N 58 4

In the latest death toll, the authorities report 75 dead, about fifty injured and about twenty houses burned, following the explosion.

The Justinian University Hospital, which is receiving the injured, is overcrowded. Serious cases have been rushed to Port-au-Prince, Mirebalais and Hinche.
