Demonstration of force by the G9 armed coalition in Delmas

CTN News

The armed group “G9 an fanmi e alye” led by former police officer Jimmy Chérisier made a demonstration of force in the afternoon of Monday, October 10, 2022 at the bottom of Delmas.

Armed with assault rifles of different calibers, the members of this coalition marched through the streets and fired automatic weapons as they passed.

Law enforcement was conspicuous by its absence from the G9 parade, which included a number of lawbreakers.

Well before the G9 demonstration in the afternoon of Monday, October 10, several thousand people were in the streets of the capital, particularly in Delmas, to demand the departure of the de facto government led by Ariel Henry. The demonstrators were bludgeoned by the police who used tear gas and live ammunition. The result was one death and several injuries.
For some observers, law enforcement officers are simply overstepping their bounds by beating up demonstrators who are demanding respect for their constitutionally guaranteed right. While they rarely intervene to prevent armed gangs from terrorizing the population, these observers deplore to ZoomHaitiNews.

For several weeks, the G9 group has been preventing the distribution of fuel at gas stations. Despite various attempts at a joint operation by the army and the PNH, the fuel is still not coming out and the armed gangs are still in control of the Vareux terminal.
