The filmmaker Arnold Antonin confirms the news of his wife’s kidnapping on his Facebook account on Wednesday. “I confirm the information. But I do not intend to make a statement to the press,” the post reads.

The director thanks all those who have expressed their sympathy at the news of his wife’s abduction.
A man of diverse careers, Arnold Antonin is known both inside and outside the country for his social, political and cultural commitment. He was honored for his life’s work with the Djibril Diop Mambety Award at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2002.
