Death of Ambassador Guy Lamothe’s mother.

Leone Colas Lamothe passed away on January 6, according to her family, who announced that the centenarian’s funeral would be held on January 13 in Cap-Haïtien.

A prayer meeting will be organized the day before at the Chapelle St Joseph to celebrate the life of the deceased, TelePluriel reported, citing the late memoirist’s family.

Born in 1924, Leone Colas Lamothe had four children: Jean, Guy, Claude, and Félix Lamothe.

“A career educator, a woman of faith, she was always a great advisor to her pupils first and foremost, and to all her neighbors on Rue 22 and Rue 23 E in Cap-Haïtien,” lamented her family, estimating that “the fire at the Lamothe family home in August 2020 really took its toll on the centenarian’s already fragile health”, in a statement to CaribbeanTelevisionNetwork.

Daughter of the renowned jurist Léo Colas, who held various positions in the Haitian justice system in the Nord department, Léone Colas had eight grandsons and granddaughters, including: Christine, Jonathan, Reginald, Dominique, Alain, Clarke, Stephane, and Arielle Lamothe.

On this sad occasion, the CTN editorial team offers its sincere condolences to the four sons and eight grandchildren.
