The authorities of the city hall of Miragoâne proceeded this Tuesday, November 8, 2022, to the operation of eviction of a public space located near the beach “Laissez moi Beach”, located in downtown Miragoâne.
During this operation, residents victims have denounced the decision of the mayor of Miragoâne to act without warning. They accuse the previous communal administration that authorized them to build in this space. The three people who were arrested during the police intervention Demelor Jocelyn, Jocelyn Gary and Pierre Nergence, expressed their frustration against the authorities who ordered their arrest in an illegal manner.
In a press conference on Thursday, November 3, 2022, the president of the municipal commission of Moragoâne Anne Myriam Loiseau and her two assessors Mackenson Joseph and Ridson Renard had declared that the occupants of the space “Laissez moi Beach” have no communal authorization and even the DGI, which manages the domains of the State. They had announced that the construction project of the public beach “Laissez moi Beach” will start soon. It is the firm “Total Dysine” which is responsible for carrying out the work estimated at 21 million gourdes.
