Kamala Harris’ running mate is now known.

The Democratic candidate has chosen the governor of Minnesota as her vice-presidential candidate.

The information was revealed by the Associated Press.

Vice President Harris then made her choice official with a tweet on her X account, formerly known as Twitter. “I am proud to announce that I have asked Tim Walz to be my running mate,” wrote VP Harris, who also praised her running mate’s credentials. “As a governor, coach, teacher and veteran, he has helped working families like his. It’s great to have him on the team,” she added.

The new vice-presidential candidate also reacted. Tim Walz said he was honored “to join Kamala Harris”. He promises to put all his weight behind facilitating Kamala Harris’s election as President of the United States. “I’m putting it all on the line. Vice President Harris is showing us what’s possible in politics. It reminds me a little of the first day of school. So let’s get to it, folks!” wrote Tim Walz on Twitter.

Barely chosen, Governor Walz is already under attack from the Republican candidate. Donald Trump reacted to the announcement by calling Walz “dangerously liberal” and saying he would “unleash HELL ON EARTH”.

The former president believes Walz would be the worst vice president in history, particularly on the economy and immigration. According to Trump, Walz would “set TRILLIONS of dollars on fire” and open U.S. borders to thousands of criminals.
