Installation of two commissions for the follow-up of the agreements on the targeted subsidy of petroleum products between the government and the transport sector

CTN News

The installation of these two commissions comes more than a month after the government’s commitment to proceed with a targeted subsidy of fuel prices on the local market.
This decision was taken to address the anger of trade unionists following the increase in the price of petroleum products a little over a month ago.

Representatives of the trade union sector, the Ministry of Commerce, and distributors of petroleum products are part of these commissions.
The commissioners are responsible for ensuring compliance with the memorandum of understanding reached between the government and the public transport unions.
They will also have to make recommendations on the adjustment of fuel prices, said the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Odney Pierre Ricot.

For his part, the trade unionist Jacques Desroches, of FOSSA, speaking on behalf of his peers, said that they remain particularly attached to the respect of the law of March 9, 1995 on the regular adjustment of fuel prices, the setting of the cost of public transport.
The Minister of Defense Enold Josué, the trade unionists Duclos Bénissoit of the MUTH, Monstès Joseph, of FUTRAH, Changé Méhu, of APCH, had also made the trip for the occasion.
