The two career professors of the Faculty of Sciences of the State University of Haiti (UEH), Jean Raoul Monplaisir and Roseberte Bien-Aimé, regained their freedom on December 19, about a week after they were kidnapped and held by armed bandits in the capital.
Nothing has been released about the conditions of their release. However, the kidnappers demanded a ransom, the amount of which was not specified, in exchange for the release of the Monplaisir couple.
The former Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications (TPTC), Joiséus Nader, confirmed for ZoomHaitiNews the news of the release of the 2 teachers.
