The American President has tested positive for coronavirus this Thursday. The news was announced by the White House.

“This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19. He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted”,Ā  the White House press secretary said in a statement.

Under the recommendations of his doctor and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Biden has begun taking Paxlovid, “an oral antiviral pill that can be taken at home to prevent high-risk patients from becoming so ill that they require hospitalization.”

For now, the American head of state is in isolation. He has very mild symptoms, according to White House spokeswoman Jean-Pierre, adding that Mr. Biden “will continue to perform his duties fully during this period. He has been in contact with White House staff members by phone this morning, and will participate in scheduled meetings at the White House this morning by phone and Zoom from his residence.”

The 46th President of the United States is expected to remain in isolation until he tests negative in accordance with CDC recommendations and White House protocols. First Lady Jill Biden, obviously in close contact with her husband, has tested negative. However, she plans to isolate herself.
For the time being, the White House is trying to trace the people with whom Joe Biden was in physical contact. The head of state was in Massacchusetts yesterday where he gave a speech to several dozen people and shook hands with several participants.
