Caught in an ambush this Thursday morning on the road to “Tibwadòm”, an agent of the Unité de Maintien d’Orddre (UDMO), from a back-up in Gonaïves, was fatally hit.
Anthony Dumas is a member of the 27th promotion of the PNH, recently transferred to the Departmental Directorate of Artibonite (DDA). He was hit by a projectile to the head.
This ambush comes only a few days after the kidnapping of several Mandan Sara in a pick-up truck on this stretch of road.
These acts attest to the return in force of the Pendue gang, which specializes in acts of kidnapping and robbery on the road circuit between Gros Morne and Bassin Bleu.
The situation is currently complicated at the level of this zone called “VAR” by the passengers. Public transportation is completely paralyzed due to the activity of armed gangs.
