A major fire broke out in the middle of the day on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in an old house located at 14 D Street in Cap Haitien. Despite the intervention of firefighters, the damage is considerable according to what reported the permanent correspondent of Zoomhaitinews in the second city of the country, Love Mackendy Paul who had visited the scene of the disaster.
The material losses were very important. However, no loss of life was recorded during this disaster according to local authorities.

Not yet being able to identify the origins of this disaster, Patrick Almonor deplores the lack of means of the Fire Department of the city preventing him to extinguish the flames in time and reduce the damage.
