Martissant bandits’ bloody Christmas gift to the population: at least 3 dead and several injured

CTN News

Blood was spilled again in Martissant on the eve of the traditional Christmas holiday. The trade unionist Guy Polinice, alias Ti Guy, and two other people who accompanied him were shot dead on December 24 in the Martissant neighborhood.

They were in a vehicle returning from Jacmel as part of a toy distribution operation in the South East and Nippes on the occasion of Christmas, said Montes Joseph, general coordinator of the Unified Federation of Transporters of Haiti (FUTRAH), which represented Guy Polinice in the department of Nippes.
The victims were hit by projectiles that were fired from several places in Martissant at the southern entrance of the capital where bandits continue to terrorize the population.
The security plan announced by the police has not produced convincing results in the 3rd district of Port-au-Prince. The crackling of weapons was heard throughout the day of December 24 in Martissant, some people reported. As you may recall, businessman Toms Adamson, his daughter Nahomie, and eight employees of SAFICO SA were kidnapped on December 21 by armed bandits in Martissant.
