At the head of a delegation, the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Nesmy Manigat inaugurated this Monday, May 1, 2023 the technical agricultural high school of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes. The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of the Director General of the National Education Fund (FNE) Jean Ronald Joseph, the Director General of the National School Canteen Program Gina Guillet Delatour, the representative of the regional office of the great south of FAES Abner Jean Charles, the departmental director of the Ministry of National Education of Nippes Jean Nelson Pierre, the dean of the public university of Nippes (UPNIP) Father Yves Voltaire and the departmental delegate of Nippes Morel Espérance Berard.
In his speech, the director of the agricultural technical school of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes Huberman Joachim, thanked the FNE and its partners who have seen fit to build this school in the community. He praised the dedication of the Minister of National Education Nesmy Manigat for his efforts in the Haitian education system. However, he asked the minister to provide the technical agricultural high school of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes with operating materials including those of computers to facilitate the learning of learners.
For his part, the Director General of the National Education Fund, Jean Ronald Joseph said that the construction of the school was financed by the Arab Economic Fund and the FNE, which through the dollar 50 program of the diaspora and the fees on telephone calls, have invested an envelope valued at about 18 million 740 thousand gourdes.
The Minister of National Education and Vocational Training Nesmy Manigat, said he was proud to proceed with the inauguration of this new institution where he initiated the program of the new secondary during his time at the ministry in 2014. Minister Nesmy Manigat explained that this high school has an academic training program but also a training program on agriculture in relation to the choice of field of study of the high school which is the science of life and earth (svt). After the 4 years of study, students will receive a technical certificate based on agriculture that will allow them to continue their studies in the field of svt.
It should be noted that the members of the municipal commission of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes were conspicuous by their absence during the ceremony.
