Towards the establishment of unofficial border crossings between the United States and Canada.

The authorities of both countries have reached an agreement that should allow the Canadian government to receive 15 thousand undocumented immigrants from the United States.

The agreement is expected to be made public this Friday during the visit of U.S. President Joe Biden, who met with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau.

The news was revealed by CNN.

This new program should extend the agreement signed in 2004 under the name of “safe third country agreement”.

The objective of this agreement was to allow the two countries to address the flow of migrants to Canada from its border with the United States, particularly towards the border point in the Russell Rd areas of New York, which has seen a significant increase in migrants trying to find refuge on Canadian territory.

Without going into the details of the agreement, the Canadian Prime Minister insisted on the need for migration policy to be conducted in an appropriate manner to avoid internal tensions in Canada. “We are a country that was built like the United States on welcoming people from all over the world, we just need to make sure that we do it responsibly and appropriately so that our citizens continue to have a positive attitude towards immigration,” Justin Trudeau said in an interview with CNN.

Fleeing mass deportations by the United States, thousands of immigrants have decided to take refuge in Canada, which is perceived by immigrants as having a more open and welcoming migration policy.

This sometimes creates tensions between the United States and Canada.

Canadian authorities are often very critical of the United States for not taking the necessary measures to solve the immigration problem.
