The women’s rights activist, Novia Augustin, was kidnapped by armed bandits on Friday night in Delmas 75.
A convinced feminist, she created the organization Refuge des femmes in order to better ensure the fight for the respect of the rights of Haitian women and girls.
Originally from St-Marc, in the Bas Artibonite, Novia Augustin began to militate since her early youth in favor of the respect of women’s rights and has become one of the leading figures of the feminist struggle in the country.
Like many other citizens, she was kidnapped by the caïds who control the city to the great displeasure of the authorities.
