Prime Minister Ariel Henry exchanged this Wednesday with the new Chargé d’affaires a.i of the Embassy of the United States in Haiti, Eric William Stromayer. The security and economic situation of the country, the political dialogue and the renewal of the mandate of UNIHRO were at the heart of the discussions, according to government sources.
A change was made this week in the U.S. diplomacy with the appointment of Eric William Stromayer as the new chargé d’affaires a.i. of the United States in Haiti nearly three months after the departure of Kenneth H. Merten from the country.
The American diplomat Eric William Stromayer had, this Wednesday, July 6, 2022, a first exchange of ideas with the head of the Haitian government Ariel Henry regarding the overall situation of the country.
The two officials discussed the security and economic situation of the country, the political dialogue and the renewal of the mandate of BINUH.
It should be noted that July 15, 2022 will mark the end of the 9-month mandate of the UN Integrated Office.
