As reported by CTN, the alleged criminal Luckenson King Pablo appeared before a judge at the Chelsea District Court in Massachusetts on Tuesday regarding the murder of his wife, Melissa Janvier Pablo.
The court appearance drew significant attention from local media and community members.
During the hearing, Luckenson King Pablo’s defense team requested bail, presenting multiple arguments to support their position. The lawyers specifically pointed to what they characterized as unnecessary delays by the plaintiff’s attorneys in moving the case forward. They emphasized their client’s previously clean record, noting that before the tragic murder of his wife, he had no criminal history whatsoever, according to a judicial source who spoke exclusively to CTN under condition of anonymity.
After careful consideration of the arguments presented, the judge presiding over the high-profile case firmly denied the bail request, citing the severity of the charges and potential risk.
A new hearing has been scheduled for February 7, where additional evidence is expected to be presented. In the meantime, the victim’s family legal team is actively pursuing strategies to transfer the case to federal court. This move is strategic, as federal courts typically have access to more extensive resources and can impose more severe penalties for similar crimes, CTN learned.
The situation has become increasingly complex as Melissa’s body remains in the mortuary’s care. Multiple attempts to schedule funeral services have been unsuccessful and subsequently postponed. The primary challenge stems from the fact that Melissa’s immediate family members, who have the legal authority to claim her body, currently reside in the Dominican Republic.
Diplomatic efforts are currently underway to expedite their visa appointment process through the U.S. Embassy. The final decision regarding their entry into the United States rests with the U.S. Consul General in the Dominican Republic, who will either approve or deny their visa applications.
Melissa Janvier Pablo, a 33-year-old promising professional, was tragically shot by her allegedly abusive husband, Luckenson K. Pablo, on December 6, 2024, in Chelsea, a city located east of Boston, Massachusetts.
Prior to her untimely death, Melissa had established herself as a respected manager at a Starbucks location within Boston Logan International Airport, where she was known for her dedication and leadership skills.
