Ronald Perceval, 40, a Haitian immigrant who was fatally stabbed on September 16 on Chester Street in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, will be laid to rest on October 7 in Leominster, according to information shared by his family. The funeral services will take place in this small Worcester County city, west of Boston.

Fitchburg police, alerted around 5:30 a.m., found Mr. Perceval suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries. According to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, the incident was not considered random, as the individuals involved knew each other, News Link Live reported.

Charles Ednerson, 27, of Brockton, was arrested the same day in connection with the killing.

At his arraignment in Fitchburg District Court, he pleaded not guilty to charges of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for September 24.

Perceval had recently arrived in the United States under the parole program commonly referred to as the Biden program. According to several witnesses, both Perceval and Ednerson were attending a small gathering when an argument escalated into the deadly confrontation.

A GoFundMe page has been created by Perceval’s family to support them in the wake of his tragic death.
