Jean Paul Pauleus, Kenol Joseph and Sylneste René, three students at the Center for Higher Education in Educational Sciences at the Isaac Newton School of Higher Education were kidnapped this weekend at La Croix Périsse, a stretch of road connecting the city of of l’Estère and Gonaïves.
The kidnappers demanded a large sum of money in exchange for the release of the students who were on their way to the school at the time of the kidnapping.
The rectorate of the Isaac Newton School of Higher Education, which says it is deeply saddened by this heinous act, is calling for solidarity for the release of the victims.
“The rectorate of ESIN launches a vibrant call for solidarity to the university community, to the members of the Artibonite population and to the state authorities in order to obtain the liberation of the students”, reads a note made public this Saturday, November 11, a copy of which was transmitted to ZoomHaïtiNews.
