The U.S. government continues discussions with the instigators of the Montana agreement

The promoters of the Montana Agreement continue to score points at the international level.

After the Caribbean congressional commission, it is the turn of the American chargé d’affaires in Haiti Keneth Merten to meet with the members of the commission for a Haitian solution to the crisis.

The news was confirmed by the U.S. Embassy in a message posted on its twitter account.

“Chargé d’Affaires Kenneth Merten met, once again, with leaders of the Montana group this [Tuesday] December 21 to discuss the political situation in Haiti,” the official embassy account reads, adding that “the U.S. government continues to support a Haitian solution to the crisis.”


On December 16, the Caribbean Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives met with the initiators of the Montana Agreement. A meeting that allowed the promoters of the agreement to give details on the steps and the working methodology of the commission, according to a press release forwarded to ZoomHaitiNews by the Caribbean Caucus of the American Congress.
