A new member of the medical sector has been kidnapped in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. It is Dr. Innoncent Pierre, director of the Sainte Boniface hospital in Fonds-des-Blancs.
Dr. Innocent Pierre was kidnapped in Croix-des-Bouquets this Monday, July 11, 2022 by heavily armed individuals. After Dr. Greta Lataillade Roy, Innocent Pierre is the second doctor kidnapped in the space of a week. This would explain why the Haitian medical sector is one of the preferred targets of the kidnappers.
As a sign of protest, the employees of the Sainte Boniface hospital observed a work stoppage this Tuesday, July 12, to demand the release of the doctor.Boniface à Fonds -des-Blancs.
Le Dr Innocent Pierre a été enlevé à Croix-des-Bouquets ce lundi 11 juillet 2022 par des individus lourdement armés. Après la Dr Greta Lataillade Roy, Innoncent Pierre est le deuxième médecin enlevé en l’espace d’une semaine. Ce qui expliquerait que le secteur médical haïtien est l’une des cibles privilégiées des ravisseurs.
En signe de protestation, les employés de l’hôpital Sainte Boniface ont observé ce mardi 12 juillet un arrêt de travail pour exiger la libération du médecin.
