Jacmel: Protest against the illegal sale of fuel

CTN News

The first images coming from the city of Jacmel through the Facebook page of Zoomhaitinews shows that this town woke up under tension this Tuesday, June 7, 2022 following a protest movement organized by motorcycle cab drivers against the illegal sale of fuel.

The motorcyclists say they are tired of this new scarcity of fuel that hits the city. It is, according to them, caused by the persons in charge of the service stations who indulge in practices relating to the illicit sale of fuel such as gasoline and diesel.

Due to the unavailability of gasoline in the pumps, the gallon of gasoline is currently sold up to 1000 gourdes at the edge of the street, according to the protesters who have crisscrossed several streets in the city by setting up barricades of burning tires including Avenue Barranquilla.
School and commercial activities are only partially paralyzed in the city of Jacmel this Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
