As part of the fight against the illegal sale of fuel in the third largest city in the country, four people were arrested this weekend. They are the owner of a gas station and three pump attendants.
These offenders are currently held in custody pending the necessary action.
They are accused of selling gasoline in unauthorized containers.
The city of Cayes is one of the cities most affected by fires due to the storage of gasoline. The chief of the jurisdiction of Cayes Ronald Richemond accompanied by members of the specialized units of the National Police proceeded to the seizure, last week, of several liters of stored fuel and made several arrests.
Despite the determination of Commissioner Richemond to eradicate this practice in the city of Les Cayes, fuel dealers and their accomplices continue to minimize the consequences. It must be said that the repeated fires recorded in the city of Cayes have already caused the death of several people and losses estimated at several thousand dollars.
