An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was caught on video making an embarrassing and costly mistake on a residential street in California. His government-issued SUV, left without the parking brake engaged, slowly rolled backward and struck a parked vehicle — before the agent fled the scene without checking the damage.

The footage, recorded by a local resident and later posted on Reddit, was picked up by The Nerd Stash in a report by journalist Nat Collazo. It shows a black SUV marked “US Border Patrol Police” slowly reversing down a neighborhood street with its doors open. As the vehicle passes a parked car, one of the open doors slams into the driver’s side window.

Shortly after the impact, the video captures a man — identified as an ICE agent — running toward the SUV, jumping in, and speeding off without stopping.

According to The Nerd Stash, the owner of the damaged vehicle witnessed the entire incident but was unable to catch the federal SUV’s license plate.

“I tell you man, these clowns are not trained law enforcement,” one Reddit user commented, as quoted by Collazo.

As of now, ICE has not issued a statement regarding the incident.

A second video, shared later, reportedly shows the same agent returning to the scene to inspect the damage. Moments later, additional officers arrive, according to The Nerd Stash. It remains unclear whether the vehicle owner was informed or if an official report was filed.

The woman who filmed the incident hopes the footage will help the car owner deal with any complications from his insurance company, particularly if they attempt to deny coverage or raise his premium.

This incident comes amid growing criticism of ICE’s enforcement tactics, especially in residential neighborhoods. The agency has faced backlash over its use of plainclothes agents and unmarked vehicles, with recent viral videos capturing what many view as excessive or reckless behavior by federal officers.
