Marcus Boereau refuses to let historical conflicts between Haiti and the Dominican Republic influence his vision. He intends to leverage his entrepreneurial strengths to capitalize on the favorable investment climate in the neighboring country.

This Port-au-Prince native has just launched an ambitious real estate project in Punta Cana called TAMAN. Investment value: 30 million dollars.

Conceived as an oasis of tranquility and sophistication, TAMAN goes beyond typical tropical luxury standards. It embraces a contemporary development approach: sustainable, aesthetically pleasing, and focused on residents’ wellbeing. Drawing inspiration from Balinese architectural elements, the complex will feature 144 high-end apartments.

For Boereau, 36, this venture represents more than an economic gamble: it’s a statement. “This project demonstrates confidence in our region’s transformative potential,” he declared in a statement shared by Black Enterprise. The project is also the first to secure all necessary permits in the rapidly developing La Rinconada district, Black Enterprise revealed.

Dominican architectural firm Verges & Asociados leads the project, with technical oversight from ASPECT. A prominent local insurance company covers development risks, while an international hotel operator – whose identity will soon be announced – will manage the complex. The goal: attract investors seeking both profitable and sustainable assets.

During construction, the team plans to host immersive events for partners and prospective buyers, allowing them to experience the TAMAN lifestyle from the earliest stages.

Marcus Boereau founded IMAR Ventures, specializing in real estate development and strategic investments across the region. With a degree in international business, he’s known for bridging Caribbean and Latin American markets. He has overseen major projects in hospitality, infrastructure, and residential development, according to Black Enterprise, which highlighted Mr. Boereau’s linguistic abilities, speaking eight languages: Haitian Creole, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and two forms of Mandarin.

His linguistic prowess enables him to negotiate and operate in diverse environments – a valuable asset in the multicultural Caribbean region.

Against a backdrop of political crises in Haiti and migration tensions in the Dominican Republic, Marcus Boereau’s initiative sends a powerful message: Haitian entrepreneurship focused on action, innovation, and regional integration.

Unable to invest in his homeland due to political crimes and insecurity, Marcus channels his efforts into the neighboring territory.

TAMAN represents more than a luxury residential complex. It showcases what Caribbean talent can achieve when provided with resources, vision, and space to create.
