Haiti – Storms: 3 dead, one missing and significant material damage in the North according to the DPC

Jean Roland Michel, Celibien Thermidor and Victor Dorsinvil, are the 3 victims of flooding caused by the recent bad weather in the North Department while another person is missing, said the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC).

According to the head of the institution, Jerry Chandler, these people were negligent, adding that the missing person was trying to cross the raging waters of a river.

“The DCP always advises people not to cross rivers in flood,” said Dr. Chandler, adding that 2,500 families need emergency assistance and 2,570 houses have been flooded.
The premises of the Park of Caracol were also invaded by water, it is the same for several cities of the department of Nippes, lamented Jerry Chandler.
