Haiti-Insecurity: Businesses threaten to close, the cry of alarm of the ADIH

CTN News

The Association of Industries of Haiti continues to draw attention to the deterioration of the security situation in the country. It invites the government to assume its responsibilities.
The Association of Industries of Haiti alerts the country that companies affiliated with it are threatened with closure. “Many of the companies are preparing to interrupt their activities permanently, due to insecurity,” warns the ADIH.

The Association of Industries of Haiti regrets the lack of control by the authorities. “The ADIH is more than worried and exasperated by the pace of the socio-political and economic crisis. Insecurity persists and reaches proportions that no one expected. The country is at the bottom of the abyss. Crime, lack of dialogue, progressive loss of control of certain geographical areas of the country, are all factors that are plunging the nation into this unprecedented chaos that we are currently experiencing” writes the association in its latest public publication.
The ADIH recalls in the stride that the partial dysfunction for about a month of the General Administration of Customs leads to the paralysis of daily activities of its members, importers and exporters in general.
“The whole country is a victim of acts of kidnapping that must stop! The population needs to go about its business in peace” pleads the Association of Industries of Haiti.
The ADIH notes that the Government is powerless to witness the decay of all public institutions, while the living conditions of the population are deteriorating. The group urges the authorities to restore order and peace in the country, which has for too long been given over to armed gangs, we read in a note published on June 17, 2022.
