The program director of the Gheskio Centers, Karine Severe, was released on Friday, less than 24 hours after being kidnapped by armed bandits in downtown Port-au-Prince.

The information was confirmed by a member of the Gheskio centers who requested anonymity.

It is not known under what conditions Dr. Severe was released.

This is not the first time that an employee of the Gheskio Centers has been kidnapped. On many occasions, the leaders of this health institution had to threaten to close their doors to obtain the release of their employees kidnapped in Port-au-Prince.
