Real Madrid has suffered as against Paris St. Germain to a lesser degree, but goes to the semi-finals. Waiting for the result of the match Athletico Madrid-Manchester City, scheduled for Wednesday, to know his opponent in the next round.

An incredible night for the men of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti. Things were very difficult and even complicated for Madrid. But they crossed the line, thanks to goals of the young Brazilian Rodrygo Goes (80th) for the first reduction of the score and of his captain Karim Benzema at the 96th of the first time of the extra time putting the score at 3-2, synonymous of qualification for the semi-finals. KB9 had benefited from a well worked cross from his fellow attacking player, the Brazilian wild card Vinicius Junior on the left side. RealMadrid had a scare but qualified for their ninth semi-final in eleven years. And Karim Benzema scored his 12th Champions League goal this season for Real, one behind Robert Lewandowski, who will remain at 13 goals as his team is eliminated from the competition.

The defending champions Chelsea will have huge regrets after leading by three goals for so long.

In the other match of the day, a thunderclap reigned at the Allianz Arena of Munich where the Bavarians were eliminated by Villareal in the quarterfinals of the LDC, after a draw (1-1) conceded following the equalizing goal of the 22-year-old Nigerian, Samuel Chukwueze in the 88th minute. While the Munich team was already thinking about extra time with the score at 1-0, a goal scored by the inevitable Robert Lewandowski at the beginning of the second act, in the 52nd minute. The yellow submarines had won the first leg 1-0 at their home ground last week.

Julian Nagelsmann’s men put the pressure on from the start with his 3-4-3, but Villareal’s defense led by veteran Raul Albiol was able to resist the onslaught of the Munich team. The modest and valiant team of Villareal has eliminated the 2020 champion and reaches for the second time in its history the semi-finals, after the season (2005/2006), when it was eliminated by Arsenal. The Spanish club is waiting for the result of Liverpool vs Benfica Lisbon to know its next opponent in the semi-finals.
