During his speech, he outlined several measures aimed at restoring order, reviving the economy, and organizing free and inclusive elections by the end of 2025.

“Insecurity must be fought with rigor,” insisted Fritz Alphonse Jean, emphasizing the urgency of restoring stability in the country. He announced concrete actions to secure key roadways and strategic areas, allowing the return of internally displaced persons and the resumption of economic activities. According to him, security is essential to initiating the country’s recovery.

The CPT president also highlighted the need to invest in infrastructure rehabilitation, particularly in the area of food security. “Every action must aim to stabilize the country and prepare for the crucial elections for Haiti’s democratic future,” he added, calling for national mobilization.

Fight Against Gangs and Institutional Reforms

Fritz Alphonse Jean reaffirmed the CPT’s determination to wage an unrelenting war against gangs that terrorize the population. “We will not let gangs destroy our country,” he declared, blaming drug, arms, ammunition, and organ traffickers for fueling the chaos.

The CPT president stressed the need to integrate agents from the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP) into the fight after a vetting process. He also announced the upcoming adoption of a “war budget,” designed to provide the necessary resources for law enforcement to carry out this battle.

The president emphasized that the CPT intends to respond to the urgent demands of the population regarding security. “The CPT has heard your cries,” he stated, calling on the population to collaborate actively while warning against infiltrations and destabilization attempts.

Towards Elections in 2025 and a Constitutional Reform

Regarding the political situation, Fritz Alphonse Jean reaffirmed the CPT’s commitment to organizing free and inclusive elections in 2025. He also advocated for a national conference to reform the Constitution, arguing that Haiti must lay the foundations for a modern and functional state capable of addressing current challenges.

The CPT president concluded his speech by guaranteeing that power would be handed over to an elected president on February 7, 2026, thus marking the Council’s commitment to respecting the democratic transition.

While saluting the courage of the Haitian people, he renewed the Transitional Presidential Council’s commitment to stabilizing Haiti and putting the country back on the path to peace and development.
