The Director General of the National Council of Cooperatives, Lesly Alexandre announced this Saturday, July 2, 2022, on the occasion of the International Day of Cooperatives, four major projects that aim, among other things, to deconcentrate the CNC while specifying that the institution is already present in eight departments of the country. Lesly Alexandre promises to establish, in 2023, two regional offices in the center and in the Grand’Anse.
This work also consists of encouraging cooperatives to finance national production through a partnership with the National Bank for Agricultural Development (BNDA). If the Haitian youth constitutes a potential of development, the CNC wants to take advantage of it through training sessions to encourage the increase of the penetration rates of the latter in the cooperative sector.

At the final stage, the CNC’s Director General intends to develop orientation and monitoring tools to geolocate cooperatives and also to establish an electronic directory.

The observation shows that the CNC does not lack ambitious projects to boost its program, but the challenges and resources needed to achieve them are significant, recognizes Lesly Alexandre who says he hopes that the institution will have a budget available to achieve the goals set.
