PNH officers continue to be victims of the climate of insecurity in Port-au-Prince.
Three police officers from the 25, 26 and 28 promotions of the PNH were assassinated by armed bandits in Thomassin 48 this Sunday.
Pierre Paul Junior Dorcely, Nicolas Robenson, and Medèze Fortilien were attacked by heavily armed individuals during a police patrol in the area, according to SYNAPOHA22, one of the police institution’s union organizations.
They would have been victims of a get-apen set up by the thugs who have been spreading terror in the area for a long time, according to the PNH’s communication department, which sent “its sympathies to the families, loved ones, and colleagues of these police officers who were victims in the performance of their duties,” in a statement on its Facebook page.
The Prime Minister, head of the Superior Council of National Police (CSPN) said deplored this heinous act against the officers of the PNH.
“Our police brothers are today, once again, fallen under the murderous bullets of thugs without faith or law. We deplore these barbaric acts,” wrote Ariel Henri in a message on his twitter account. “To the families, brothers in arms of these brave police victims, we send our sincere condolences and we assure them of our “solidarity.”, added the de facto Prime Minister.

Nos frères #policiers sont aujourd'hui, une nouvelle fois, tombés sous les balles assassines des malfrats sans foi ni loi. Nous déplorons ces actes barbares.— Dr Ariel Henry (@DrArielHenry) April 9, 2023
In less than 4 months, more than 20 police officers have been murdered.
The police are under-equipped to deal with the bandits who are armed with weapons of war.
Numerous attempts by some HNP officers to protest for better equipment and working conditions have not yielded any results.
