The police have the 400 mawozo gang by the throat

Less than 24 hours after the police operation that led to the death by gunfire of the powerful gang leader “Kòlèg” as it is known, the forces of law and order landed this Thursday, August 4, 2022 in the stronghold of this criminal organization operating in the commune of Croix des Bouquets where they proceeded to the liberation of six people abducted and sequestered by the gangs.

Among the six hostages is a French national, according to the police, who promise that operations will continue in order to track down the bandits to their last entrenchments.

This umpteenth operation was carried out in the stronghold of the 400 mawozo gang a few hours after the funeral ceremony of the powerful gang leader “Kòlèg” who was killed the day before in an exchange of fire with the police.

The police institution has the 400 mawozo gang by the throat by multiplying its operations against this criminal organization. On August 1, 2022, the PNH arrested an important member of this gang in Mirebalais, Remy Renèl, alias “Lele”.

According to preliminary information, Remy Renèl participated in an act of burglary perpetrated in a gas pump in the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets. Since then, he was on the run in the Department of the Center.
Also in this department, two days later, on August 3, 2022, law enforcement officials caught Fenelon Jocelin (35 years old), another active member of the criminal organization known as 400 Mawozo.

This criminal group regularly attacks police patrols and kills police officers. Police Inspector Réginald Laleau, 45 years old, from the 14th promotion of the Haitian National Police (PNH), assigned to the police station of Croix-des-Bouquets, is the latest victim recorded within the PNH. He was murdered on July 24, 2022, by bandits of the 400 mawozo in the compound of the Assemblée de Dieu church in Meyer.
