The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training announces, this Friday, July 29, 2022, the launch of the implementation of a training plan for teachers and supervisory staff. This training program will start on August 1st 2022. Launched this year, this training project aims to improve the skills of teachers.
This training project should contribute to the improvement of the quality of learning for school children throughout the country. The Ministry of National Education and Professional Training intends to play its part in the process of change in Haitian society.
This initiative is part of the ten-year plan established by the Ministry. It will be an opportunity for teachers to obtain their teaching license. The trainees and teachers will be the beneficiaries of this training series according to Minister Nesmy Manigat.
This training site will also allow those who teach, also those who lack the title of teacher to benefit from pedagogical support, appropriate training in order to obtain this title, says the Director General of MENFP, Meniol Jeune.
This training program will be spread over a period of two years and based on a curriculum of 270 hours. The first session will begin on August 1 with two disciplines, namely educational planning and learning theory, says the Director of Training and Development, Georges Wilbert Franck.
With the mission to strengthen the Haitian education system, the National Education Fund (FNE) provides financial support to this training program. According to the FNE’s Director General, Jean Ronald Joseph, 84 million 258 thousand gourdes will be available for the follow-up of the project.
Targeting 1350 teachers, this training project will be piloted by the Directorate of Training and Development. During this program, several modules will be covered during nine sessions. This will contribute to the reinforcement of teachers’ capacities.
