Soccer: Frantzdy Pierrot and Corventina continue to make the difference in France

CTN News

The Haitian international footballer Frantzdy Pierrot struck again in the French second division championship this Saturday, May 7, 2022. The colossal striker, (1m94), scored his 15th goal of the season, during the victory of En Avant-Guingamp in Dunkerque (3-1).
Frantzdy Pierrot is now on the podium of the Ligue 2 scorers, behind Alexandre Mendy of Caen 16 goals and Rhys Healy of Toulouse, author of 20 goals since the beginning of the season.

Unfortunately, Frantzdy Pierrot’s consistency and efficiency were not enough to put EAG in a position to defend their promotion to Ligue 1. The club finds itself in 6th place, 16 points behind third place, occupied by Carlens Arcus’ Auxerre with one day left in the season.

The 27-year-old striker is already attracting the attention of several clubs. He has expressed his willingness to continue at Guingamp after the end of his lease next year.

In the women’s Ligue 1, Melchie Daelle Dumornay continues to shine with Stade de Reims. Corventina gave the Reims club a 1-0 victory on Saturday against Saint-Etienne, scoring in stoppage time (90th+2).

Corventina made the difference by coming off the bench, after replacing her compatriot Kethna Louis. She scored her fifth goal this season. She also provided five (5) assists.

Crowned the best young player in the world by the prestigious Goal magazine last March, Melchie Daelle Dumornay is applying for the “best female hope” award by the UNFP. The award will be presented on May 15.
