Several hundred people demonstrated this Sunday, June 26, 2022 in several places in the country including Cayes and Port-au-Prince. They shouted their frustration against insecurity, the high cost of living and the mismanagement of Prime Minister Ariel Henry and his team in power.
In Port-au-Prince, the emphasis was placed on the return of Jean Bertrand Aristide, at the head of the country, to lead the transition.
In a carnival atmosphere, the demonstrators walked through several streets of the town of Delmas before landing in Tabarre, near the residence of the famous leader of the “Lavalas” movement. Zoom Haiti News provided live coverage of the event on its various platforms.

They have targeted the team in power, taking advantage to denounce its inability to restore a serene climate of peace and to address the problem of insecurity in the country. This is why they are campaigning to entrust the destiny of the country to the former Catholic priest who had been ousted from power against a backdrop of protests and popular discontent on the same grounds in 2004.

On June 21, former President Jean Bertrand Aristide received at his home Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who is beginning a series of consultations with certain actors to find a solution to the socio-political crisis. However, nothing has filtered from this meeting between the neurosurgeon at the head of the country and the charismatic figure of Fanmi Lavalas.

Ariel Henry then exchanged with leaders of the Professional Association of Banks, the Haitian Medical Association, media associations, and various bars of the Republic.

The Prime Minister wanted to have the points of view of the sectors represented around the problem of insecurity after having exposed the situation said the secretary general of the Bar Association of Port-au-Prince, Me Robinson Pierre-Louis, relayed by Télé Pluriel. He stressed that Ariel Henry has reported difficulties experienced by the forces of order to attack armed gangs and the steps taken with the international community to allow the PNH to have adequate means to solve the problem of insecurity.

It must be said that the dialogue announced between Ariel Henry and the representatives of the Montana Accord would be at a standstill.
