Presidential elections in Brazil: Lula and Bolsonaro in the second round

Brazilians will wait until October 30th to know the name of their next president.

Contrary to the predictions of many polls, the former Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva did not win the election in the first round. The charismatic Brazilian leader came in first with 47.9% of the votes and will face in the second round the outgoing president Jair Bolsonaro who collected 43.7% of the votes, according to partial results posted on the website of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) spread over 97% of the votes.
