Police operation in Pétion-Ville: 5 bandits killed and 6 others arrested

The alleged criminals killed and arrested are all members of the group led by the gang leader ”Vitelòm”. This gang specializes in kidnapping, vehicle theft and murder in the area of Périmer between Pétion-Ville and Tabarre.
The operation that allowed the police to put these criminals out of action was conducted Thursday, May 12 in the localities of Diègue, Métivier and Doco in the commune of Pétion-Ville.

The bandits pinned during this operation answer to the name of: Valsaint Antoine alias Empereur Toutou, Boussicot Emmanuel Evens, Lamour Johny, Peterson Bemduette, Beaubrun Bensley and Etienne Bebetho according to the PNH.

The police institution informs that at the same time 5 alleged thugs were fatally wounded in exchanges of fire with law enforcement officers.

Three firearms including a Glock 23, caliber 9mm and two vehicles in which the thugs were found were confiscated by police officers dispatched to the heights of Pétion-Ville for this operation.

Following this operation, the PNH renewed its determination to “dismantle the gang network headed by “Vitelòm” involved in several cases of kidnapping, murder and vehicle theft in the jurisdiction of Petion-Ville”.

The police were very active during the day of Thursday, May 12, 2022. They diverted ”an attempted kidnapping at the level of Carrefour de l’Académie (Route Frères) thanks to the reinforcement of the devices and the deployment aiming at countering this phenomenon”.

At the level of Croix-des-Bouquets, the National Police intervened in time to prevent the gangs of “400 Mawozo” from hijacking a bus of the company Coach Line which was transporting passengers to the Dominican Republic.
