A session of criminal trial without jury assistance started this Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Court of First Instance of Miragoâne.
In an interview with Zoomhaitinews, the Dean of the Court of First Instance of Miragoâne, Gérald Nertilus, informed that the court intends to hear ten (10) cases involving thirty (30) inmates, accused of night robbery, criminal association, murder and rape. He said he was counting on the collaboration of the criminal chain of the jurisdiction of Miragôane for the full success of this session.
The Dean of the Court of First Instance of Miragoâne, Mr. Gérald Nertilus, took the opportunity to reiterate his desire to decongest the civil prison of Miragoâne by addressing the phenomenon of prolonged pre-trial detention.
