The Haitian Government is furious with the Organization of American States for having met with former ministers Claude Joseph, Rockfeller Vincent and the former Government Commissioner, Bedford Claude, around the investigation into the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse.
Indeed, in a correspondence addressed to the hemispheric organization, the Haitian authorities through the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean Victor Généus, did not fail to spit his anger.

The Government says it is surprised by these exchanges between the Secretary General of the OAS himself and his former clerks of the State indicating that they are only using Luis Almagro for personal purposes or even destabilization of Haiti.

The dismay of the team in power is total, since it believes that the OAS is one of the partners working for the stability of the country.
“What Haitians need now is no longer agitation, but preferably a climate of appeasement to initiate the process that will lead to an improvement in the socio-economic conditions of the population, “defended the Haitian chancery.

It also mentioned the need to implement the reconstruction projects of the southern peninsula hit by the earthquake of August 14, 2021 and devastated by the hurricanes during the same period.

For those in power, citizens expect those who claim to be friends of Haiti to take into consideration their suffering and to join those who strive to provide solutions to immediate problems.

The government authorities describe those who organized this meeting as detractors and fishers in troubled waters, adding that their specialty is to constantly fuel a situation of tension in the country, the only way to achieve their goals.
The Haitian leaders have also set themselves up as lesson givers by calling on Secretary Luis Almagro the duty of objectivity that is his responsibility as the highest executive of a central and permanent body that is the OAS.
“Any action taken with one sector to the detriment of another, any position taken in favor of one side or another in the context of disputes within the countries of the region, can be interpreted as a political act, unfair and biased, “said the authorities of the country adding that it is precisely to avoid this confusion, that the Charter of the Organization has advocated the establishment of its various bodies each with a specific mission.

In its call to order, the government said it hopes that measures will be taken to avoid the repetition of such behavior, inviting the OAS to strengthen the process of stabilization and restoration of peace necessary for the consolidation of democratic institutions and the economic expansion of Haiti.
