Haitian-American Luckenson King Pablo appeared before a judge in Chelsea, east of Boston, Massachusetts.

This was his third hearing since the murder of his wife, Melissa Janvier Pablo, on December 6, 2024, in Chelsea, as she was about to begin her shift at Boston’s Logan International Airport, where she worked as a manager at a Starbucks store.

In a brief session lasting about five minutes, Luckenson King Pablo’s lawyers once again argued in favor of his release on bail. However, the judge overseeing the case rejected the request, stating that the defendant posed a threat to society.

Representatives from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office took the opportunity to request that the case be transferred to the Boston District Court, according to information gathered by CTN.

No members of the press were allowed to attend.

For the first time, the victim’s mother was present at Luckenson King Pablo’s court appearance.

During the hearing, the defendant reportedly attempted multiple times to establish non-verbal communication with Melissa Janvier Pablo’s family, CTN has learned. He showed no signs of remorse throughout the session.

The next hearing is scheduled for March 15, with representatives from both parties set to participate via Zoom.

The case against Luckenson King Pablo continues to move through the judicial process, as authorities closely monitor the proceedings. The murder has shaken the Chelsea community and sparked strong reactions within the Haitian diaspora in the United States.

Melissa Janvier Pablo’s funeral took place on January 25.
